Is the Battle of the Trench similar to the jihad against the tyrant of Iraq?

Q: May Allah benefit you: We hope you will inform us about the Battle of the Trench, and whether it is similar to what we are currently experiencing?
A: The Battle of the Trench was a great trial by which Allah tested the Muslims and established the proof against the disbelievers, and by which He supported His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and His believing servants. The confederates of the disbelievers gathered and attacked Madinah, which is why it is called the Battle of the Confederates. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) dug a trench around Madinah, and Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) suggested this to him. This trench stood between him and the enemies, and Allah made it very beneficial. The disbelievers remained besieging Madinah for about a month.
In this battle, Allah the Exalted revealed His saying:[Al-Ahzab 33:9] When they came at you from above and from below, and when the eyes rolled and the hearts reached the throats, and you assumed about Allah various assumptions. There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking. And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, “Allah and His Messenger promised us nothing but delusion.” [Al-Ahzab: 9-12].
Thus hypocrisy became apparent, and I seek refuge in Allah. The polytheists gathered to fight the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It is called the Battle of the Confederates because Quraysh gathered many confederations from Ghatafan and others, and from the Ahabish and others, until the authors of biographies said that they were ten thousand who intended to go to Madinah to eliminate the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. But Allah frustrated their expectation and returned them disappointed and humiliated, praise be to Allah. He sent down upon them soldiers of angels whom they did not see, and He sent upon them a wind by which Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, shook them, scattered their assembly, and returned them disappointed. Exalted is He.
The severity reached a great extent with the Muslims, and hypocrisy became apparent. The hypocrites said:[Al-Ahzab 33:12] This was the belief of the disbelievers and the hypocrites; may Allah protect us from their evil.
The Battle of the Trench is not similar to the events of the present time in all aspects; rather, it is greater and more severe for those other than the people of Kuwait. As for the calamity of Kuwait, it is more severe because they were expelled from their lands, their wealth was looted, and the blood of many of them was shed. May Allah deal with those who wronged them as they deserve, and turn the circle of evil upon them. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the Near.

Thus hypocrisy became apparent, and I seek refuge in Allah.
