The Last Time for the 'Isha' Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the last time for the 'Isha' prayer?
Answer: The last time for it is the middle of the night. If the night has reached its midpoint, it is not permissible to delay it until then. However, if a person is distracted or sleeping and then wakes up, he prays when he wakes up, even if it is in the latter half of the night, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever sleeps through the prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it. There is no expiation for it except that.من نام عن الصلاة أو نسيها فليصلها إذا ذكرها لا كفارة لها إلا ذلك
. But he does not have the right to delay it intentionally. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
the, time of the night prayer (lasts) by midnightووقت العشاء إلى نصف الليل
Sahih Muslim 612b
. Therefore, neither the believing man nor the believing woman may delay the 'Isha' prayer until the middle of the night. If the night is, for example, nine hours, then the midpoint is four and a half hours. If the night is ten hours, the midpoint is the fifth hour from the setting of the sun to its end.
The point is that the 'Isha' prayer is not to be delayed until the middle of the night, but there is no harm in delaying it until near the middle of the night, or until a third of the night has passed. There is no blame in that, for example, for a woman or a sick person. As for a man, he prays with the people in the mosques and does not have the right to pray in his house, nor to delay it; rather, it is obligatory for him to pray with the people in the mosques if he is healthy. However, if he is sick, he is excused and prays in his house whenever he wishes before the middle of the night. Yes.
