What is the advice for one who sometimes becomes lax in voluntary acts of worship?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I maintain the witr prayer and night prayers for long periods, and I do not neglect listening to and reciting the Qur'an or listening to religious tapes. Then periods come when I leave all of that, or I do not persist in it, and I become somewhat lax in my religion. This happens after childbirth and my interruption of prayer and Qur'an recitation during the post-natal bleeding period. Then I wake up from my heedlessness and return to persistence. What should I do so that I do not abandon persistence in my religion? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: There is no blame in this because they are voluntary acts. There is no blame in these, but we advise you to be earnest and persistent, and to ask Allah for help and success in all circumstances, so that you do not have a period of lapse. Strive, for otherwise, a person is a place of deficiency, and every burst of energy has a lull. But a person strives; the believer strives against his own self, and the believing woman likewise, in adhering to righteous deeds and exerting herself in good deeds. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
The deed liked most by Allah is one to which the doer adheres constantly even if it is small.إن أحب العمل إلى الله ما داوم عليه صاحبه وإن قل
Sahih Muslim 782c
. So persisting in doing good, such as witr at night, reading the Qur'an frequently, and voluntary prayers, and glorifying, declaring the oneness of Allah, praising, and saying Allahu Akbar—all of this is required. So it is prescribed for the believing man and woman to care for this matter, to continue in it, and to do much of it. If some periods and some deficiency occur, there is no blame in it because they are all voluntary acts, and praise be to Allah.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
