How should one respond to the Ahbash's use of al-Bukhari's report of the phrase "except His dominion" to support the figurative interpretation of the verse "Everything will perish except His Face"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The second question.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : In al-Bukhari's hadith as well, al-Bukhari interprets the verse in his statement—may He be Exalted—:
Everything will be destroyed except His Face كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ
[Al-Qasas 28:88]
.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Do they say "His dominion" is the interpretation here?

The Shaykh : My brother, this answer is the answer, because this is a branch of their major misguidance.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : My brother, these are the people.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Either they hold the view of the Mu'tazilah that Allah is present in every place.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : So any objection they raise against the people of the Sunnah is raised against them even more and more.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Or they say what their leader says today.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : That Allah is neither inside the world nor outside it.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : And thus they have judged Him as non-existent.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Well, so what is the point of the discussion? Tell them.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Allah is in every place. If they say to you, yes, then the objection is raised against them.

The questioner : Yes, without a doubt.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : And if they evade this statement.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : And they have the right to evade it if they are believers.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Then say to them: Is Allah—Mighty and Majestic—outside the world? If they say no, then the discussion with them is dropped, because they have become materialists.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : They have become deniers of the existence of the Lord of the worlds. So the inquiry is the inquiry, and the answer to the first question is the root answer.

The questioner : The root answer, yes.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
