Guidance for those whose relatives are far away and unable to maintain ties with them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the third question from this questioner, he says: Due to the pursuit of a livelihood, families have become scattered, and it has become difficult for us to maintain ties with our relatives. Is there a sin upon us for this, O honorable Shaykh, despite the distance?

Answer:
You must fear Allah as much as you are able, for Allah the Exalted says:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Surat al-Taghabun: 16],
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacityلا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Surat al-Baqarah: 286]. Maintain ties with your relatives as best as you can. If they are poor and you are able, support them from your wealth, even if it is only through correspondence by sending them whatever money is easy for you. If they are wealthy, do so even through writing or by phone, asking: How are you? How are you doing? This is in the spirit of greeting and inquiring about their health, and this is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
