The ruling on a Muslim male doctor examining a pregnant woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the case of a woman who is pregnant, she goes to the doctor for an examination. The question is: What is the ruling on a male Muslim doctor examining a pregnant woman and performing a thorough examination of her? Is this permissible?

Answer:
If there is a need for an examination, it is obligatory for her to present herself to a qualified female doctor, not to a man, if there is a need for a qualified female doctor. As for a man, no, this is not permissible; because it is a fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), a danger of fitnah, except in cases of dire necessity. If it is a dire necessity where death is feared, like a dire necessity where death is feared, and there are diseases associated with it. As for what women have become accustomed to, presenting themselves to doctors without need, as a custom they have adopted; this is a mistake, it is not permissible.
As for with a woman, with a specific female doctor, if there is a need, there is nothing wrong with it; because presenting herself to a man involves danger and fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). We ask Allah for safety, except in cases of dire necessity. Yes.

The presenter: Thank you, O Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
