The Permissibility of Hurrying with the Funeral

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The Shaykh said: This questioner says: Some people say: It is the custom in my country that they walk with the funeral while repeating: There is no god but Allah. Then some people came and said: This is a religious innovation. So they take the funeral from the mosque and take it to the grave, and they cite or cite the hadith: “Hurry with your dead,” knowing that with the funeral are old men who want the reward of the funeral, and they do not pray at the grave until the people have buried the deceased; is that action permissible?

Answer:
The Sunnah is to hurry with the deceased; this is the Sunnah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Hurry with the funeral. If it is righteous, it is good that you hasten to bring it to him; and if it is otherwise, it is evil that you remove from your necks.أسرعوا بالجنازة، فإن تكن صالحة فخير تقدمونها إليه، وإن تكون سوى ذلك فشر تضعونه عن رقابكم
But the speed should not harm the bearers, nor the followers. It should be a moderate speed that does not harm those carrying it, and does not harm those accompanying it. If the one accompanying is delayed and does not come until the burial or after the burial, he prays for him and sends mercy upon him, and praise be to Allah, and he has the reward of following, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
