Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner from Kuwait asks: Is it permissible to place Qur'ans in mosques? And does the one who places them receive a reward for every letter read from that Qur'an? And if this Qur'an is placed with the intention that the reward of the reader be for the deceased, is this prescribed?
Answer:
Placing mushafs in the mosques is prescribed; because it helps the one who comes to the mosque to read, and its owner has a reward, and a great reward is hoped for him; because he is among those who assist in good, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) says:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1425Sahih (Darussalam), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) says: Sahih al-Bukhari 6951.
And if Qur'ans are endowed for the deceased, or if knowledge is written; then they have a reward in that, if one endows a Qur'an, or a book of knowledge from the books of the noble hadith, or from the books of tafsir, or fiqh; then he has a reward in that, and if he intends this endowment for his father or his mother, he has a reward in that, and the one for whom it is endowed has a reward in that.
The presenter: Praise be to Allah.
