Ruling on transferring Qur'ans from one mosque to another

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: We found, on one of the days, the person in charge of one of the small mosques carrying seven printed copies of the Qur'an from the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, some of which were printed at the expense of one of the benefactors, and they belong to the endowments. When we asked him about them, he said: He wants to do good by transferring those Qur'ans to a large mosque in another city, because there are no Qur'ans there and there are many worshippers there. So what is the ruling on this action, O Shaykh?

Answer: If the small mosque has more Qur'ans than it needs, there is nothing wrong with transferring those that are not needed in that mosque to another mosque that needs them, as the purpose of that is for the worshippers to benefit from these Qur'ans. The most cautious course is to seek the permission of the imam in that matter, because he is more aware of the mosque's needs. And success is from Allah.
