Prohibition of deceiving and betraying the disbeliever

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from our brother Hamed Muhammad Aissa from Rabigh. Our brother asks and says: Since I work in a grocery store selling food items, I have noticed many things that I find repulsive. I ask: Is it permissible to lie to someone I know does not pray or fast but claims to be a Muslim? And is it permissible to deceive them? Please guide us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
Indeed, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden betrayal and deception for His servants; as He said (Mighty and Majestic) :
Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due
[Al-Nisa: 58], and He said (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].
[Al-Anfal: 27], and He said (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive
[Al-Mu'minun: 8]. These are among the characteristics of the people of faith. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever cheats us is not one of us.
Sunan Ibn Majah 2225Da'if (Darussalam)
.
So it is not permissible for you, O questioner, to deceive the one who buys from you and deals with you, whether he is a disbeliever or a Muslim, whether he prays or does not pray. It is obligatory for you to fulfill the trust, and to sell with honesty, cleanliness, without deception, and without betrayal.
And if you know that someone does not pray, or that he is doing something of what is wrong, then you must advise him if you are able to do so, teach him what benefits him, guide him to what is good, and forbid him the wrong, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrongوَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ
[al-Tawbah:71], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah?' he said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common folkالدين النصيحة، قيل: لمن يا رسول الله؟
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam)
So, advise the one in whom you see what contradicts the Shari'ah according to your ability, but do not engage in deception or betrayal. Yes.
