The ruling on one who vowed to hold a Mawlid celebration but did not do so

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner for the program who says: My mother made a vow when she gave birth to my brother that she would hold a Prophetic Mawlid celebration, but she did not do so. Is she sinful for that?

Answer:
The Mawlid celebration is a religious innovation (bid'ah); it is not permissible for her to do it, and she owes an expiation for an oath; because this is a vow to commit a sin, she owes an expiation for an oath: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, as the expiation for an oath, due to the hadith
There is no vow to commit disobedience, and the expiation (for such a vow) is the expiation for breaking an oath.لا نذر في معصية، وكفارته كفارة يمين
Sunan Ibn Majah 2125Sahih (Darussalam)
.
Celebrating the Mawlid is a religious innovation (bid'ah) that is not permissible; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate the Mawlid, nor did his Companions. It is one of the innovations introduced by some people. If a woman or a man vows to hold a Mawlid, his or her vow is invalid, and he or she owes an expiation for an oath. Yes.
