The ruling on fasting on Saturday alone

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From the questions of the questioner from Algeria, he says: O Shaykh, we were forbidden from fasting on Saturday except for what is obligatory upon us. So, regarding making up missed fasts, such as for a sick person or a menstruating woman, is it permissible to fast on Saturday during the period of making them up, or should one avoid fasting on that day?

Answer:
The hadith containing the prohibition against fasting on Saturday except for what is obligatory upon us is a weak, anomalous, and confused hadith. Therefore, there is no harm in fasting on Saturday together with Friday, together with Sunday, or on its own; there is no harm in that. The hadith mentioned is weak and is not authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as the scholars of hadith have pointed out. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and bless you.
