Question:
What is the ruling on exposing the feet and hands to non-mahrams? And what is the evidence for that?

Answer:
The ruling is prohibition; due to the generality of the saying of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He):
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partitionوَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ
[Al-Ahzab 33:53]
, this encompasses her entire body,
That is purer for your hearts and their heartsذَلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ
[Al-Ahzab: 53], and His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
A woman is an awrahالمرأة عورة
, and likewise the saying of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He):
not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathersوَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ
[An-Nur 24:31]
