The ruling on a wife stipulating that her husband not marry another woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If a wife stipulates to her husband that if he marries another woman, she is divorced, is this a valid condition, or is it a condition that contradicts the Shari'ah?

Answer:
She has the option if she stipulated it, for Muslims are bound by their conditions. The condition benefits her, while the marriage harms her. The scholars have explicitly stated that she has her condition and that she has the option; if she wishes, she may permit it, and if she wishes, she may separate from him. It does not require a divorce or anything else.
