What is the ruling on inviting women to participate in public activities, such as conferences and social activities like holding a group dinner whose proceeds benefit

The questioner : What is the ruling on inviting women to participate in public activities, such as conferences and others? For example, some organizations hold social activities like a group dinner whose proceeds benefit Muslims in Bosnia and elsewhere. Given that sometimes non-Muslim immodest women are present in that place, what is the ruling on attending these places?

The Shaykh : I think, may Allah bless you, that this question has already been answered in what came before, but I say, quoting:
"Sa'd brought them in, and Sa'd was wrapped up *** This is not, O Sa'd, how camels are led in"
Collecting donations for the afflicted Muslims in Bosnia, Herzegovina, or elsewhere in the lands of Islam must not be done through this unlegitimate means. Rather, charity should be collected as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to collect it, such as on the day of Eid, as it came in the authentic hadith: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once addressed the men in the Eid prayer, then went to the women and admonished them and reminded them, and ordered them to give charity. So one of them would throw her earring or ring into the garment of Bilal, and he would collect it from them." This is how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did it, and this is how Muslims must not forget the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) regarding His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
[Al-Ahzab 33:21]
It is necessary to avoid mixing in every place. I mentioned earlier that the best of places are the mosques, and yet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) separated them there, just as he also separated the women from the men in the Eid prayer ground, as you heard in the hadith mentioned earlier. So all mixing is forbidden from the perspective of blocking the means to harm. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
