Ruling on selling magazines that contain images of women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Q: What is your opinion regarding the magazines sold in the markets that contain images of women who are immodest and alluring? Is it permissible to sell them?

Answer:
The images in magazines and daily and weekly newspapers must all be prohibited if they contain images of women; because they are a trial, and it has been directed to the state and to the Minister of Information to do what is required in this regard, and everyone has been alerted to the obligation of protecting Muslims from these magazines and the press that publishes vices and indecent images, whether on the cover or inside the magazine. All of this is wrong and not permissible.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the Ministry of Information and the religious censorship to prohibit that, and it is obligatory for the state—may Allah grant it success—to prohibit that, and they do not have the right to permit it; because this harms the society greatly. So it is not permissible to import any magazine or any newspaper that contains articles against Islam, or indecent images. Rather, they must be prohibited, or those images must be cut out and removed before entry. Either the harmful articles and indecent images must be removed from them, or they must be strictly prohibited. It is not permissible to use them ever, and it is not permissible for the state, the Ministry of Information, or the religious censors to be lenient in this matter. Rather, they must be active and strong in this matter, in order to protect the Muslim society in this land from these calamities and trials that harm the society greatly.
