Is it permissible to place taxidermied animals in the home?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to place taxidermied animals in the house, or is it forbidden?

Answer:
We have issued a ruling on this matter—I and the Permanent Committee—prohibiting it, prohibiting these taxidermied animals; because they resemble images, and this may lead people to placing images, and they may think they are images, thus opening the door to images.
And among the reasons for this is that it falls under the category of frivolity, of wasting wealth.
And among the reasons is a third aspect, which is that some people may believe that their presence in the house—a taxidermied wolf, or a taxidermied eagle, or a taxidermied tiger, or such and such—may ward off the jinn, or may be beneficial in such and such, or may cause such and such; thus opening the door to great evil and false beliefs.
Therefore, it is obligatory to prohibit these taxidermied items, and not to have them in the house, and not to use them in the house, just as it is not permissible to hang images.
