What is the opinion on seeking knowledge only in the mosques?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some young people believe that seeking Islamic knowledge is only available from scholars in study circles, and as a result, they abandon formal education in schools. What is your advice, may Allah preserve you?

Answer:
This is a mistake and is not correct. In fact, there are many sciences in institutes and colleges: from the perspective of Sharia, from the perspective of the principles of religion, from the perspective of hadith, and from the perspective of the Qur'an. There is great knowledge in them. The important thing is giving sincere advice, diligence, and activity in that. There is no objection to combining both; there is no objection to having formal education and studying with the shaykhs at night, or on Thursdays and during the holidays when he is able to study. There is no objection to combining both benefits and directions.
But whoever claims that there is no knowledge in formal education is mistaken. He wanted to entertain himself because he did not keep up, wanting to entertain himself so that he could excuse himself for this delay. Otherwise, formal education has religious, worldly, and encouraging benefits. The one who keeps up is encouraged with his brothers, benefits from it, and benefits the Muslim community through it if he has the certificate. He benefits the Muslim community through it, and he also obtains assistance in his worldly life through it. So one should not cling to this statement or be affected by this statement. May Allah grant success to everyone.
