A Word to the Washers of the Dead, Men and Women

Yes. It is recommended for the believer to help his Muslim brothers by washing the deceased, and the same applies to women. This is a matter of cooperation in good. The man who is skilled in washing, and the woman who is skilled in washing; it is prescribed for both of them to help in this matter. The man washes the male deceased, and he also washes his wife, and the woman likewise washes the female deceased, and she washes her husband. And if they learn, and the man learns that to do it well; then this is a great good and a great virtue; because people need this, they need someone to wash their dead, both men and women.
So it is prescribed for the man to do this and seek reward, and it is prescribed for the woman to do it and seek reward due to the pressing need for this matter. The matter is clear, praise be to Allah, clear and explained in the books of the scholars, how to wash the deceased. One should refer to the books of the scholars and benefit from the chapter on funerals regarding the washing of the deceased, the chapter on washing the deceased. The scholars have clarified the method in it. So the woman should refer to it, and the man should refer to it, and benefit, and ask the scholars about whatever is difficult for him. Yes.
