The ruling on raising a grave more than a shibh to protect it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The following message is from the listener Ali Muhammad al-Khashan from Riyadh. Our brother says: We see many people, when burying the deceased, raise the grave more than a shibh. When we forbid them, they say that it is to protect it from the flood. We also see them add gravel on top of the grave after burial, in addition to its original soil. They also sprinkle water on it. What is the ruling on what they do?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with any of this. The best is a shibh and what is around it. If it is increased slightly with gravel or the like, the matter is easy in this; so that the graves are known and recognized, and so that they are not desecrated. If they bury it with its soil and put gravel on it so that the soil settles and remains, and sprinkle it with water so that this remains, there is nothing wrong with it, in order to preserve its soil and its durability. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah bless you.
