The ruling on a fasting person using toothpaste

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message from one of the female listeners, sent by (S.A.), an Egyptian residing in the Kingdom, asks a number of questions. Among her questions is one that asks: Does toothpaste break the fast or not?

Answer:
Toothpaste does not break the fast, nor does the miswak, nor does cleaning the mouth with soap or anything else; none of this breaks the fast. However, a person must be careful that nothing enters his stomach, whether it is toothpaste or something else; nothing should enter his stomach. As for cleaning the teeth with toothpaste, soap, or another type, and then spitting it out, no, that does not harm his fast.
However, if he intentionally swallows some of it, it breaks the fast. But if something goes down his throat unintentionally, or if he is overcome by it, or if he does so out of forgetfulness, his fast is not broken.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
