Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to a letter from one of our female listeners from al-Ayn in al-Hasa, namely: Nawal Sa'd. Our sister Nawal, we addressed some of her questions in a previous episode, and she has two questions remaining in this episode. In her first question, she asks about the book al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, and his Companions, and whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
The book al-Targhib is a famous, well-known book by al-Hafiz al-Mundhiri. It contains many hadiths, including authentic ones, weak ones, and good ones. In his book, he indicated the weak ones by saying "and it was narrated," when he did not assert them but reported them using a form of weakening. This is his indication that they are among the weak hadiths. It is a beneficial and great book. May Allah have mercy on its author.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
