The ruling on placing the hands before the knees when lowering oneself into prostration

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A friend of the program, as he described himself, the listener (A. A. S.) from Libya, sent a message containing a collection of questions. In one of them, he says: We have an imam in our mosque, and this imam prays with us, but he is quick in his prayer. When prostrating, he places his hands before his knees. We are a group of young men who differ from him in his prostration, so we place our knees before our hands, based on the evidence: "Do not make your prostration resemble that of a camel." Is this prostration valid? Guide us, may you be rewarded. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Your prostration is all valid; his prostration is valid, and your prostration is valid, praise be to Allah. However, the better practice is what you did, placing the knees before the hands, as mentioned in the hadith of Wa'il and others, which agrees with the hadith of Abu Hurayrah that prohibits prostrating like the prostration of a camel. This is because the prostration of a camel involves placing the hands first. Therefore, the Sunnah is to place the knees first, to place the knees first, because they are in the legs before the hands.
Some scholars held the view of placing the hands before the knees; because in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) :
but should put down his hands before his kneesوليضع يديه قبل ركبتيه
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
, they interpreted that to mean the prostration of a camel is on its knees and they are in its hands. So if the worshipper places his hands first, he has differed from the camel. But that is not the case. The correct view is that the prostration of a human on his hands is what resembles the camel. It contradicts the beginning of the hadith
he must not kneel in the manner of camelلا يبرك كما يبرك البعير
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
and it contradicts the hadith of Wa'il: "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he prostrated, he placed his knees before his hands." This is the better practice and this is the most well-known view.
And whoever believes what the end of the hadith of Abu Hurayrah indicates:
but should put down his hands before his kneesوليضع يديه قبل ركبتيه
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
The one who is correct gets two rewards, and the one who is wrong gets one reward, praise be to Allah. This is all if he is able to place the knees first. But if he is unable due to old age, or his illness; then he places his hands first, and nothing is required of him, praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
