The ruling on a woman covering her hands, feet, and hair in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister asks and says: What is the ruling on a woman’s hair, arm, or foot being exposed during prayer, without her intending it?

Answer:
It is obligatory for a woman to cover herself in prayer, covering her hair, her entire body, her arm, and her foot in prayer. As for the face, it is uncovered in prayer, except if there is a non-mahram (foreign man) present, in which case she covers her face, even in prayer.
As for the two hands, the scholars differed on them, and the best is to cover them. If they are exposed, there is no blame on her, according to the correct view, if Allah wills. And if something of this is exposed unintentionally, and it is a small amount, and she covers it immediately, that does not harm her, if she notices it and covers it. Yes.

The presenter: If she is in her house, praying in her room, and her room is locked, and there is no one in it, Shaykh Abdul Aziz?

The Shaykh: Even if it is necessary for her to cover them.

The presenter: It is necessary to .......

The Shaykh: Her hair and her entire body, except the face and the hands. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. Is it required that there be a new covering other than the usual clothes, Shaykh Abdul Aziz?

The Shaykh: It is not required. It is not required if she is wearing her usual clothes, her shirt and her head covering, and her shirt is covering, or if she is wearing, for example, socks, that is sufficient. And if she wears an extra jilbab over that, that is better than good.

The presenter: I see many women striving for this jilbab, even if her clothing is loose.

The Shaykh: It is not obligatory.

The presenter: It is not obligatory.

The Shaykh: It is not obligatory, no.

The presenter: May Allah bless you.
