Ruling on the exposure of the awrah of an elderly man to his mahrams when they serve him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
My father is elderly and unable to move. He needs someone to care for him and attend to him, and he also needs someone to change his underwear and outer clothes. Do we commit a sin in doing this, and how do you guide us? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no blame on you for that. It is obligatory for you to serve him if he is unable to serve himself. So it is obligatory for you, or for one of you, to serve him in what he needs. If a male servant is available to do this, and you are able to find him for a suitable wage, that would be a great good; because a man is more capable of these matters and further from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). But if that is not available, then his daughter, or his sister, or another of his mahrams serves him, except if he has a wife, in which case she is the one who attends to him until Allah makes ease and healing for him, or until a man who is able to provide this service serves him if his wife is unable to do so, or if no one other than his wife is available to serve him.
So the conclusion is that his daughter and his sister have no blame on them, and likewise any other of his mahrams when there is a need to serve him and no wife is available to serve him.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. May Allah help us.
