Ruling on looking at the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) of an elderly person for the purpose of cleaning him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
My father is an elderly man and he is unable to control himself. Naturally, he needs to be cleaned, and we do that for him. Sometimes we are forced to expose him. How do you guide us? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If it is possible for his wife to serve him, that is obligatory; because the wife is permitted to look at his 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered). If it is possible for his wife to serve him, it is obligatory for her to attend to his needs if he is in dire necessity and unable to serve himself. If that is not possible, a man should serve him in this matter; a male servant who handles these needs he has, without directly touching the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered). Rather, he removes the impurity using a handkerchief or a rag, removing the impurity with it without touching the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered). If that is not possible, one of his daughters or one of his sisters should serve him if that is possible, with effort and caution regarding what is not permissible, such as touching the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered). Rather, she should touch it with a rag or the like to remove the impurity, if he is unable to remove the impurity himself due to his illness, his weakness, or his advanced age.
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Surat al-Taghabun:16].
Whoever takes on this task is rewarded for serving him, whether the servant is a daughter, a sister, or a wife. She is doing a great good. However, no one other than the wife should take on this task if the wife is present, so that she may be relied upon.
If the wife is not present and a male servant is available to take on this task, even for a wage if he is able to do so, he is more preferable than women taking on this matter. If that is not possible, it should be taken on by whoever seeks the reward, such as a daughter or a sister, or someone else.
With caution regarding seclusion (khalwah) if the servant is not a mahram (a relative one may not marry) to him, i.e., a non-mahram woman. There should be no seclusion; rather, a third person, such as a sister, daughter, or mother, or the like, should be present with her, so that there is no seclusion. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
No man should stay with a lady in seclusion except in the presence of a Dhu- Muhram.لا يخلون رجل بامرأة إلا مع ذي محرم
Sahih al-Bukhari 5233
(peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.

The presenter: She says: Her mother advised her, after finishing that, to ask her father for permission?

The Shaykh: What, what?

The presenter: The mother advised her daughter, after cleaning her father, to say: Ask your father for permission?

The Shaykh: The obligatory thing, as mentioned earlier, is for the wife to take on this task if she is able. If the woman is unable because she is also incapacitated, or if he has no wife at all, then a male servant should take on this task; because a man with a man is safer than a woman with a man, even if she is a mahram (a relative one may not marry) to him. If a male servant is available to serve him and clean him of what comes out of him, that is more preferable if it is possible. If that is not possible, a woman from his mahram (a relative one may not marry) should serve him, whether she is a daughter, a sister, or someone else, with care to lower the gaze from certain things and with care to ensure there is a rag or handkerchief between her and the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) to remove the impurity with it. Yes.
