How is one to be sincere in claiming affiliation with the Salaf and the people of the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A questioner says: Some people deny affiliation with the people of the Sunnah and the community, and they say: Everyone claims that, but it is better to affiliate with the Salaf?

Answer:
The Salaf are the people of the Sunnah and the community, so there is nothing wrong with claiming affiliation with them in truth, and that one is among the believers, among the followers of the people of the Sunnah and the community, among the followers of the Companions, and among the believers in Allah and the Last Day. One claims affiliation with the people of truth, and does not claim affiliation with the people of falsehood. One strives against one’s self to be truthful so that the claim is not false; one strives against one’s self until one is truthful.
