The Ruling on Images and Films Made for Children

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding images made for children: some people are lenient in this matter, and now, O Shaykh, are there films containing images, O Shaykh?

Answer:
The safest course is to destroy them. Some scholars permit them because they are despised by children, and they argue using the story of Aisha, who said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he mentioned her toys and dolls: "I have a toy in the form of a horse with wings." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed and said:
A horse with wings?!خيلٌ لها أجنحة؟!
They cite this as evidence, but this is understood to have been before the prohibition, before the ban, or the images that people make with their hands are not realistic; some people play around, mending rags and shaping them, shaping cotton, which is not like these images.
