Question:
What is the authenticity of the hadith:
If anyone washes and bathes on Friday, goes out early* walking, not riding, goes near to the imam and listens without interrupting, he will have the reward of a year’s fasting and praying for every step he takes.من غسل واغتسل وبكر وابتكر ومشى ولم يركب، ودنا من الإمام ولم يلغ، كان له بكل خطوة يخطوها أجر سنة، عمل صيامها وقيامها
Mishkat al-Masabih 1388
The author of al-Rawd mentioned that its narrators are trustworthy?

Answer:
This is a well-known hadith, and what appears to me, and what I believe to be the case, is that there is no problem with its narrators. It indicates going early to Jumu'ah, striving to hasten to it, being close to the imam, listening attentively, and hearing the khutbah.
Many hadiths have come in this meaning, indicating the prescription of going early, hastening to Jumu'ah, performing ghusl for it, using perfume, being close to the imam, and listening attentively. All of this is among the great acts of nearness.
