The Ruling on Congregational Prayer for Women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: Our sister is asking about congregational prayer for women, in schools or elsewhere, and she seeks guidance?
The answer: Congregational prayer is not obligatory for women, but if it is facilitated, it is better, so that some of them learn from others and some benefit from others. It was reported from Umm Salama and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them both) that they led some women in prayer, which indicates that this was a known matter among them in the early period and the first century. It is well known what virtues and benefits lie in this, for the presence of a knowledgeable and discerning woman who leads the women is of great benefit to them; they learn how to pray, how to bow, how to prostrate, and so on. Therefore, their praying in congregation behind a righteous imam who has discernment and knowledge is undoubtedly beneficial to everyone.
She stands in the middle of them, not in front of them, but in the middle of them, and she recites loudly in the prayers where loud recitation is prescribed, such as Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr.
The conclusion is that it is recommended if it is feasible, but it is not obligatory. Congregation is obligatory for men in the houses of Allah where they are able to do so. As for women, their prayer individually is permissible, and if congregation is feasible for them among themselves, it is good, especially if there is a woman with knowledge and insight who can pray with them and teach them the lawful prayer to which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided them in word and deed.
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayersصلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
This includes both women and men, so all those who pray must pray as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed. The understanding, knowledgeable woman teaches her sisters in Allah, her daughters, and others the lawful prayer, and if she prays with them, that is more complete in terms of teaching. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
