The Ruling on Reciting the Basmala Audibly in the Obligatory Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We have some imams who recite the Basmala audibly in the obligatory prayer. What is the ruling on this? Is it disliked, since the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not recite it audibly, as is said, and did not prohibit it? And does the one who follows the imam in this commit a sin? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer: Reciting the Basmala audibly is contrary to the Sunnah. The Sunnah is to recite it quietly. This is what is preserved from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as narrated by Anas and others from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). However, if one recites it audibly at times for the sake of teaching and benefit, so that people know it is recited, there is no blame on him. But if he continues to do so and persists in reciting it audibly, this is contrary to the Sunnah, and the least of its states is that it is disliked.
Therefore, one should advise the one who does this and direct him to what is good. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
