Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I read the title on a booklet that says "The Tabligh Jama'ah is a danger to Islam." Does this title mean that the danger is real?

The Shaykh : There may be some exaggeration in it, but if the group continues on this path, then it is truly, as I have said since I first knew them in Damascus, meaning more than ten years ago, I say of them that they are modern Sufis, modern Sufis. And there is no doubt that the Sufis have played very dangerous roles in the Muslim world, for they were the ones who paved the way for disbelievers to enter the lands of Islam. This is because the Sufi methodology involves turning away from beneficial knowledge, and consequently, any action issued by people like them will not be an action acceptable to Allah. If they continue in their turning away from the Book and the Sunnah and their contentment with what they call the Ten Commandments, imitating the Ten Commandments found in ..., and if they prevent their members from studying the Salafi creed and the Salafi methodology, and from following the Book and the Sunnah in all aspects of their lives, then it is certain that they will pose a very great danger in the near or distant future. This is because when there is a leader, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, who is able to control thousands, or even millions, of people with a blind, deaf, and dumb control, then these people undoubtedly constitute a very great danger, for they obey the command of a person as if he were the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), obeying him blindly. This is where the danger lies. But we say: I ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to guide them to follow the path of the righteous predecessors by seeking beneficial knowledge, so that their work may be righteous work. Allah is the One to be sought for help.
