Advice for those whose minds have been saturated with superstitions and religious innovations

Our sister says: When I listened to this program, I benefited greatly and greatly, especially when I learned that the awliya (close friends of Allah) and the dead do not benefit a person. When I informed my family of this, they accused me of being a disbeliever and said that the awliya would harm me and that they see me in dreams where these righteous men are blaming me. What do you advise for people like these, whose minds are saturated with superstitions and religious innovations that are almost prevalent in every Arab country?
Answer: We advise everyone to fear Allah and to know that happiness and salvation in this world and the Hereafter lie in following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and walking in his methodology, may Allah pray upon him and grant him peace. He is the master of the awliya and the best of the awliya. The prophets are the best of people; they are the best of the awliya and the best of the righteous. After them come the most pious of Allah’s servants, the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and those who came after them. The awliya are those who possess righteousness and steadfastness in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, with the prophets (peace and blessings be upon them) at their head. Loving them is a matter of religion; loving them for the sake of Allah and emulating them in good deeds and righteous works is required. However, it is not permissible to cling to them or worship them alongside Allah. It is not permissible to invoke them alongside Allah, nor to call upon them for aid, nor to ask them for help, as if one were to say: “O my master Abd al-Qadir, help me,” or “O Messenger of Allah, help me,” or “O Ali, help me or support me,” or “O Husayn,” or “O Fatimah,” or “O Lady Zaynab,” or the like. This is not permissible. Supplication is for Allah alone. Allah the Exalted says: [Ghafir: 60], and He says the Exalted: [al-Baqarah: 186].
And He says the Exalted: [al-Naml: 62], and He says the Exalted: [al-Mu’minun: 117], so He called them disbelievers because of their supplication to other than Allah.
And He said the Exalted: [al-Jinn: 18], and He said, Exalted and Majestic is He: [Fatir 35:13] If you call them, they will not hear your call, and even if they did hear, they would not respond to you, and on the Day of Resurrection they will disavow your association of partners with Allah, and none can inform you like one who is well-informed [Fatir: 13-14] . Thus, the Exalted made it clear that those whom they call upon other than Allah, whether awliya or not, do not hear their supplication. Some are dead and some are occupied with their own affairs with Allah, so they do not hear their supplication due to their death or their absence. [Fatir: 14], they are not able to respond to them; for the forgiveness of sins and the relief of distress are in the hand of Allah . Then He said: [Fatir 35:14], He called their supplication to them shirk (associating partners with Allah) with the Exalted, just as He called it kufr (disbelief) in the other verse. So seeking help, support, and aid from the dead and the absent, on the belief that they have a secret and that they hear despite their distance, all of this is false. It is all shirk with Allah, the Exalted and Majestic.
Therefore, it is obligatory for every Muslim to be mindful of this matter and to know that the belief of the ignorant in the awliya or in the prophets that they benefit and harm, and that they aid those who seek refuge in them and call upon them after death, and that they grant their requests such as the forgiveness of sins and the healing of the sick, and the like, all of this is ignorance, and it is all shirk with Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So one must beware of that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent by Allah to deny this. He was sent by Allah to the Arabs and the non-Arabs, to the jinn and the humans, calling them to the oneness of Allah and sincerity to Him. The Arabs used to worship idols, awliya, trees, and stones, so he called them to abandon this and warned them against it, and commanded them to worship Allah alone. He recited to them His saying, the Exalted: [al-Isra: 23], [al-Fatihah: 5], [al-Bayyinah: 5], and other verses.
Therefore, it is incumbent upon all Muslims, upon all those of legal age, and upon everyone with even the slightest understanding to be alert to this matter, and not to be deceived by the mushrikin (those who associate partners with Allah), the worshippers of idols, and the worshippers of graves. One must beware of their false doubts, and one must beware of their call to shirk (associating partners with Allah). One must adhere to what Allah has prescribed for His servants and what He taught His servants through the hands of the messengers (peace be upon them), and what He has clarified in His great Book regarding the obligation of worshipping Allah alone and being sincere to Him alone, excluding everything else, as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: : [Ghafir:14].
And you, O questioner! Thank Allah who taught you and saved you and gave you insight until you saw the truth that people were ignorant of. Do not be concerned with their fault-finding with you or their threats to you regarding the awliya, for this will not harm you. They are ignorant, and when they are guided, they will know the truth that you have known and become a support for you in good, if Allah wills. We ask Allah to guide everyone.

Call upon Me; I will respond to you.
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me
And He says the Exalted:
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil
And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
And He said the Exalted:
And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.
ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ مَاا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْ قِطْمِيرٍ and if they heard, they would not respond to you
And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth
Therefore, it is incumbent upon all Muslims, upon all those of legal age, and upon everyone with even the slightest understanding to be alert to this matter, and not to be deceived by the mushrikin (those who associate partners with Allah), the worshippers of idols, and the worshippers of graves.
