The third and final question in the letter from the brother (M. J.) of Raqqa, Syria, states: The one who believes in the Book, the Sunnah, and the messengers in our village or in our city, but does not believe in the lords who beat themselves as I mentioned, they say about him: You are a Wahhabi, and they claim that this school of thought does not even acknowledge the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward, and I hope for a detailed explanation of that?
Answer: These people, as mentioned before, are either ignorant or deceptive liars intending to mislead people; they are between ignorance and misguidance, and between deception and confusion. The one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and knows that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rejects their bad actions, rejects their actions and their striking themselves with weapons, or their throwing themselves into the Fire, or their drawing near to their lords through sacrifices and vows. All of this is rejected by the scholars of knowledge of Allah, and it was rejected by the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), just as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) rejected it and warned against it; because he said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
And this action is not from the command of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), nor from the command of his Companions, nor from the religion of Allah that His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought, so it is invalid.
As for the Wahhabis, they are the followers of Shaykh Muhammad, the Imam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn Sulayman ibn 'Ali al-Tamimi (may Allah have mercy on him). He was a famous Imam who called to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in Najd in the twelfth century, calling for the oneness of Allah, adherence to Islam, and the implementation of the pure Shari'ah. He warned people against exaggeration regarding the prophets and the righteous, and against worshipping graves, trees, and stones. He called the rulers of his time, the princes, and the common people to the oneness of Allah, sincerity to Him, following the Shari'ah and honoring it, establishing prayers in the mosques, and preserving the symbols of Allah. So Allah made easy for him supporters and helpers from the House of Saud, and the religion of Allah rose through the causes of his call in the Arabian Peninsula. The truth appeared and the truth triumphed, and Allah caused the falsehood to fail, and the Islamic Shari'ah was implemented in this peninsula through the causes of his call. We have not ceased, by the praise of Allah, to be in its effects and remnants. We ask Allah to keep us and the Muslims firm upon the truth and guidance. So Shaykh Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) and his followers are among the supporters of the truth and the callers to guidance. They are those who supported the religion of Allah in the time of estrangement in the twelfth century, raised the word of Allah, and struggled for it, and they ruled by the law of Allah. He calls for sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and for honoring his Shari'ah and following what he brought. People lie about him and his followers, saying: He does not send blessings upon the Prophet, and they say about him that he said: My stick is better than the Prophet. All of this is from falsehood and the lies of the enemies of Allah. He believes that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most beloved of people to him, and that he is the best of creation (peace and blessings be upon him), the master of the children of Adam, and the best of the servants of Allah. He only rose to call to his Shari'ah and to follow what he brought (peace and blessings be upon him). He is one who honors the command and prohibition of Allah, and in his lands it is proclaimed: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And he (may Allah have mercy on him) considers the sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the tashahhud at the end of the prayer to be a pillar of the pillars of prayer. So how can it be said that he does not send blessings upon him, when he considers sending blessings upon him to be a pillar of the pillars of prayer at the end of the tashahhud at the end of the prayer? But the enemies of Allah have lying, they have confusion, they have slander, and they have no regard for the matter of Allah and His Messenger. There is no power and no strength except with Allah. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
