The ruling on killing one who commits the act of the people of Lut.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He also has a third and final question, asking: If I kill the person with whom I committed this sin, or if someone else kills him, and I kill myself, will I receive a reward for it?
Answer: No, killing him is a grave sin, and killing yourself is another grave sin. Sodomy and unlawful sexual intercourse are sins, and if the sodomite kills the one with whom he committed sodomy, or the fornicator kills the one with whom he committed fornication, his action becomes another grave sin, a major crime more severe than fornication and more severe than sodomy. Killing is more severe, may Allah protect us from it. It is a major crime, second only to associating partners with Allah; there is nothing greater than killing after associating partners with Allah, may Allah protect us from it. So if the one with whom sodomy was committed is killed so that he does not report it, or for other reasons, or if the one with whom fornication was committed is killed, he has combined two major sins and two great transgressions, the second being greater than the first. Killing is greater than fornication and greater than sodomy. Therefore, one must be cautious of this and not combine the two evils. We seek refuge in Allah from that. Yes.
The presenter: He says: "And I kill myself," thinking that he wants to purify himself?
The Shaykh: Likewise, killing oneself is not permissible. This is suicide and a grave sin. It does not result in purification, but rather in defilement, and an increase in impurity and sinfulness. You do not have the right to kill yourself because of a sin. Rather, you must repent to Allah and not kill yourself. Allah, Exalted and Majestic, says:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ
[Al-Nisa: 29], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone kills himself with something, he will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection.من قتل نفسه بشيء عذب به يوم القيامة
Sunan Abi Dawud 3257Sahih (Al-Albani)
. However, if you go to the one in authority and request that the prescribed punishment be carried out on you, there is no harm. But it is better for you to conceal yourself with the cover of Allah, and not to disclose this act, and not to expose yourself, and to repent to Allah with a sincere repentance between you and Allah (may He be exalted). And Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent sincerely and turn to Him with a complete repentance. Yes.
The presenter: Do we understand from this, O His Eminence the Shaykh, that it is not the right of a person to carry out the prescribed punishment on himself or on another?
The Shaykh: No, he does not have the right to carry out the prescribed punishment on himself or on another. The prescribed punishment is for the rulers. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and may Allah bless you.
