Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the authenticity of the hadith
There is no divorce in a state of being overwhelmed.لا طلاق في إغلاق
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 16:86
, and what is meant by “compulsion” (ikhtilal)? Are there different types of anger in the case of divorce, or is it only one type?

Answer:
The hadith
There is no divorce, and no freeing of a slave, in a state of compulsionلا طلاق، ولا عتق في إغلاق
has a weakness in its chain of narration, but it has other routes of transmission and corroborating narrations, so it is preferable to act upon it. If the divorce occurs in a state of compulsion, which is coercion or extreme anger, it does not take effect, provided that the compulsion is established, the coercion is proven, and the occurrence of extreme anger is confirmed by the admission of both parties or by a witness who testifies to it.
