The questioner : To conclude this, is standing up permissible for anyone other than an arriving guest? An arriving guest, we stand up for him. Are there other matters in which it is permissible for us to stand up for someone entering our presence?

The Shaykh : It is mentioned in a hadith of Aisha in "Sunan Abu Dawud," "Sahih al-Adab al-Mufrad" by al-Bukhari, "Al-Mustadrak" by Abu Abdullah al-Hakim, and other foundational books of the Sunnah. From Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: "I never saw a person more resembling the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in appearance and likeness than Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). When she entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would stand up to her, kiss her, and seat her in his place. And when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon her, she would stand up to him, kiss him, and seat him in her place." This is an authentic hadith, ... it is related to the topic.
The student : ...

The Shaykh : And may Allah protect you, if Allah wills.

The questioner : The kiss is on the head.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : The kiss on the forehead, or on the cheeks?

The Shaykh : It is not clear where the kiss is.
