Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I went to him yesterday to see if he had a second batch of goods or not. He brought me goods and gave them to me, and I bought two packets from them. He gave me the price of the two packets and returned the goods to me. I took their due. He says to me: "My brother, you did not take their due; you left them with us and did not take their due, and you forgot them." I said: "My dear brother, I took their due. I do not want to eat haram (forbidden) food, may Allah preserve you." He said to me: "My uncle, I am sure that you did not take their due, and I do not feed my children haram (forbidden) food." I said to him: "And I am the same; I do not feed my children haram (forbidden) food." So he gave me 26 dinars, and gave me two packets, and there were also a few loose pieces. I wanted to ask, because I do not know, meaning, am I the correct one or is he the correct one?

The Shaykh : If you do not know whether you are correct or not, how can I know?!

The questioner : No, my Shaykh, I am asking you. I am sure that I took their due
81 81
dinars.

The Shaykh : Since he is sure and you are sure, take what he gives you and give it in charity.

The questioner : And give it in charity?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : And the packets that you sold, is it the same, my Shaykh?

The Shaykh: It is the same thing.

The questioner : Give them in charity?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Okay, okay, may Allah bless you, my Shaykh.

The Shaykh : But the packets are not tobacco, are they?

The questioner : No, no, my Shaykh, it is chocolate, if Allah wills. I am sincere; I sell chocolate, meaning.

The Shaykh : Yes. May you be in good health.

The questioner : May Allah give you life.

The questioner : Then the group, meaning, they are Christians. He said to me: "If you are a Shaykh and you do not eat haram (forbidden) food, do you want us to eat haram (forbidden) food? I have small children."

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner : So I was not pleased when he said that to me; I am not pleased to eat haram (forbidden) money.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah that there are still people like this.

The questioner : Yes, by Allah, and I am the same. And I said yesterday that I asked some of the Shaykhs, and I said to them: "I am sure, by Allah, that I took from him
81 81
dinars."

The Shaykh : The good are for the good.

The questioner : May Allah bless you, meaning, I give them in charity for Allah - Mighty and Majestic.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : In the causes of good? Or do I take them for myself?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : Do I take them for myself?

The Shaykh : If you know that you are taking them, no?

The questioner : I am taking them, and I am sure.

The Shaykh : Yes, give them in charity.

The questioner : Give them in charity?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Okay, my Shaykh, may Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : You are welcome.

The questioner : May Allah help you to do good, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : And may the same be for you.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh: And upon you peace.
