The ruling on seeking aid from a created being in what it is capable of

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. This questioner asks: Is seeking aid specific to Allah, such that it is not permissible to seek aid from a created being in what it is capable of?

Answer:
It is permissible to seek aid from a created being in what he is capable of. Allah the Exalted said: “And he who was of his party called for help against him who was of his enemy.” The Copt sought aid from Moses (peace be upon him). “Of his party” means from the Children of Israel. “Against him who was of his enemy” is the Copt from the people of Pharaoh. “So Moses struck him and killed him.” He struck him with one blow and killed him, because Allah gave Moses (peace be upon him) great strength, and he struck this Copt, so he died from his striking him. Then Moses (peace be upon him) regretted it. “He said: My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me. And He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” When Allah turned to him in mercy, Moses (peace be upon him) said: “He said: My Lord, by what You have bestowed upon me, I will never be a supporter of the wrongdoers.”
