Voluntary acts of worship as a nearness to Allah for the deceased.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a person to perform a voluntary circumambulation (tawaf) on behalf of his deceased father?

Answer:
Answer: And Allah, this is what has not come in the texts; but the jurists say: there is no harm in it, that it is an act of worship, and that there is reward in it, and there is no harm; but there is no evidence for it, except from the perspective of the general principle, they say: any act of nearness (qurbah) that one performs and dedicates its reward to a living or dead Muslim benefits him, this is the saying of the jurists; but the evidence has not come that the deceased benefits except by supplication for him, and a righteous son who supplicates for him, or the endowment (waqf) that he endowed in his lifetime, or that his sons endowed for him, the reward of which continues to reach him as ongoing charity, or knowledge from which people benefit, if the deceased was among the scholars and left behind knowledge that students and writings benefit from, his reward continues to reach him while he is dead.
