The Methodology of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of 'Arafah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What was the methodology of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of 'Arafah, and is it obligatory for every pilgrim to ascend Mount al-Rahmah or to pray in the Musjid al-Namirah?

Answer:
Answer: No. The obligatory requirement is to be present on the plain of 'Arafah within the boundaries, intending to stand at 'Arafah, and this is sufficient in any location within 'Arafah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I stood here at 'Arafah; all of 'Arafah is a place of standing, and keep away from the valley of 'Uranah." There is no role for the mountain, nor for ascending it, in the rulings regarding standing; wherever one is found in 'Arafah, he has attained the standing at its proper time, and praise be to Allah. One should not go to the mountain or ascend it, nor should one face it when making supplication; rather, one should face the qiblah and make supplication.
