Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on the 'Id sacrifice, and is it obligatory every year?

Answer:
Answer: The 'Id sacrifice is a great religious observance and an act of worship. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: (So pray to your Lord and sacrifice), and He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: (Say: Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. There is no partner for Him, and of that I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims). By linking the slaughter of the 'Id sacrifice and the sacrificial animal with prayer, it is indicated that slaughtering the 'Id sacrifices and the sacrificial animals is a great act of worship and a means of drawing near to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). It is obligatory that it be from lawful earnings, that the intention in it be pure for the sake of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), and that the word of Allah be implemented in it: (So eat from it and feed the contented and the beggar). This is from the favor of Allah upon His servants in these blessed days.
