Times of Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding the times of prayer in our time, are they fixed, or do they change according to summer and winter? And are they determined by the clock?

Answer:
Answer: My brother, Allah has established the times of prayer with clear signs. The time for the midday prayer is when the sun passes its zenith: {Establish prayer at the decline of the sun}. The time for the afternoon prayer is when the shadow of an object becomes equal to its height, when the shadow and the object are equal. The time for the sunset prayer is when the sun sets. The time for the night prayer is when the red twilight disappears. The time for the dawn prayer is when the dawn appears. These are clear signs, and praise be to Allah, there is no ambiguity in them. And there is no doubt that the time changes in length and shortness in winter and summer, but the signs do not change.
