Guiding Scholars, Preachers, and Teachers Against Deviant Ideas

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Shaykh Saleh: As you mentioned, there is no doubt that every member of the Muslim community, whether a caller to Allah, a scholar, a teacher, an imam of a mosque, or a common person, has a great obligation regarding these deviant ideas and these misguided sects to confront them. What do you advise each of these people? May Allah preserve you.

Answer:
Answer: First, we advise scholars, preachers of mosques, and teachers in universities and schools to guide the youth in the correct direction and to teach them the curricula that clarify the truth and clarify misguidance. They should explain these matters to them and convey them to them in a sound manner. Teachers have a major role in raising and educating the youth. Preachers of mosques should guide the Muslims, for the Friday sermon has great importance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would deliver in it whatever the attendees needed in terms of guidance, instruction, and warnings. Also, the gathering of people in mosques to receive this, and their praying in congregation behind one imam, is an education for them in unity, harmony, avoiding division, rejecting disagreement, and not listening to those who mislead. For in the congregation there is protection from the devils of mankind and jinn. We ask Allah to guide the Muslims, young and old, groups and individuals, to adhere to the truth and act upon it. However, if the trials become severe for scholars, preachers, teachers, and everyone who has insight and has advice, they should strive in this matter, for this is a time of need and a time of clarification. They should not remain silent about this matter and leave it to others, for then reliance on others will occur and defects will arise, and we will be left with our hands tied, not clarifying and not guiding. Also, the callers appointed for da'wah by the Ministry of Religious Affairs must fulfill their duty. This is the appropriate time to clarify things for people and deliver lectures and sermons to them, so that this incoming evil is combated and so that the misguiders do not find a place for themselves in the homes of Muslims.
