The Shaykh’s inquiry about the condition of the Mufti of Albania, Sabri Koutchi.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I am asking you about this Mufti: did you find that he has a Salafi orientation and is willing to accept some support for the Salafi methodology, or not?
The student : By Allah,The Shaykh : As for Sabri Koutchi, I was very pleased with him. I was with him on the plane for about an hour and a half. First, the man is distinguished by a very high spiritual quality, and the man was imprisoned during the days of Enver Hoxha.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student : He used to tell me, he used to say, “It is a favor from Allah upon me that He took me out of prison. I was in the place of the dogs; in the prison, you do not sit in my place.”

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.
The student : Because my place was dirtier than the place of the dogs.

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.
The student : And he found himself now in this world. He says, “I do not forget the days of prison.” So I warned him that there is now a very strong signal and power for Islam. I said, “Before the Western world, there are now two options to strike Islam within Albania. There is currently very strong activity from the preachers. The Imam University holds monthly courses for the preachers, meaning it gathers the preachers—may Allah reward them with good—and holds legal courses for them in tawhid (the oneness of Allah), hadith and its sciences, and the Qur’an and its sciences. In the face of this current and this very great momentum, the Western governments face two options. The first option is that they strike Islam, and this is difficult because they cannot strike Islam openly, as it is difficult, and the people will avenge Islam without a doubt. The other path is that they resort to the Shaykhs to strike the religious people, since the Shaykhs are great elders and the religious people or the youth are mostly from Arab countries or charitable associations that work, so they strike in the name of Wahhabism.”

The Shaykh : There used to be, in the past, a group of Sufis known as the Baghdashiyun. Did you learn anything about them on this trip?
The student : Yes, they are present. They still have a presence now, and most of them are holding onto mosques, of course.
