Explanation of the Hour of Response on Friday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q462: The questioner asks: What is the Hour of Response on Friday, and does it occur after leaving the prayer? Or when is it?
A462: The Hour of Response on Friday is established, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specify it. However, it occurs on Friday from the beginning of the day to the end of it. The wisdom behind this—and Allah knows best—is that the Muslim should strive throughout the entire day. The scholars, however, have sought to pinpoint it, and they have differing opinions on determining it. The most famous is the first opinion: that it is from when the imam sits on the pulpit until the prayer is completed. The second opinion, which is the opinion of Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him), is that it is at the end of Friday, before the sun sets, and it is a very short time.
