Explanation of the supplication for seeking guidance in a decision

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q306: The questioner says: In the prayer for seeking guidance in a decision, is the supplication made during prostration or immediately after the prayer? And is there a specific surah we should recite?
A306: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When one of you intends a matterإذا هم أحدكم بأمر
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 22:278
— meaning a matter in which there is hesitation and difficulty — so let him bow in two units of prayer other than the obligatory prayer, then let him say:
Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmikaاللهم إني أستخيرك بعلمك...
Sahih al-Bukhari 6382
This is the hadith, meaning he supplicates with the supplication reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the supplication for seeking guidance in a decision is made after the prayer of the two units.
