The ruling on expressing satisfaction with the Rightly Guided Caliphs in the Friday sermons

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q350: The questioner asks: Is it obligatory to mention the four Rightly Guided Caliphs in the Friday sermon?
A350: Expressing satisfaction with the Rightly Guided Caliphs on Friday is part of the practice of the Muslims. It is part of the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community: expressing satisfaction with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in general, and their loyalty, and specifically with the four Caliphs, due to their virtue and precedence in Islam. This is also because it is a contradiction of the Rafidah—may Allah curse them—who hate the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), especially the Rightly Guided Caliphs. So the people of the Sunnah and the community express satisfaction with them in the Friday sermon, in contradiction to the Rafidah, and in accordance with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."
