The Meaning of the Hadith: “Indeed, Allah has chosen certain servants for the needs of the people”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q325: The questioner asks: What is the meaning of this hadith? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, Allah has chosen certain servants for the needs of the people; people turn to them for their needs. Those are the ones who are safe from the punishment of Allah.إن لله عبادا اختصهم بحوائج الناس، يقرع الناس إليهم في حوائجهم، أولئك الآمنون من عذاب الله
?

A325: Al-Suyuti indicated in al-Jami' al-Sahih that this is a good hadith. Its meaning is clear: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has chosen some people to fulfill the needs of those in need, and He has distinguished them by enabling them to fulfill the needs of people through their wealth, their status, and their knowledge. This is the favor of Allah, which He grants to whom He wills among His servants. These are the servants whom Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has chosen with this characteristic; the intent is that they fulfill the needs of people while they are alive in this worldly life with the people, not after their death, as the ignorant ones who cling to the dead suppose. And Allah knows best.
