The Ruling on Fear of Death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q234: The questioner says: I have become very afraid of death, but my fear has become constant with me at all times. I am afraid of the darkness of the grave, and I often think about it. I believe in the bliss of the grave and its punishment. Does this diminish my reward?
Vol. 234: Severe fear is from Shaytan, but the fear that is accompanied by righteous deeds and preparation is required, such as the fear of death and preparing for it. However, it must not reach the point of despairing of Allah's mercy, or the obsessive thoughts that pursue a person and disturb his life; that is from Shaytan.
